Technical Leadership Mastery

Sustain Change works on the premise that to strive for mastery in the leadership of a technical organisation a leader must work on both the leadership tasks required in their role as well as on their leadership behaviours.  Many technical staff will strive to understand what they need to do as leaders, but over-look how they behave in doing it.  By developing an awareness of their own preferences and style, leaders are able to give themselves more choice in how they act in a particular situation, rather than automatically using their default behavioural preferences.

Sustain Change has been involved in the design and on-going delivery of major Technical Leadership Mastery programmes for different clients.  These are highly successful modular programmes run over a number of months, with coaching and action learning support between modules.

Technical Coaching

In many industries, accelerating the development of less experienced staff is critical to business performance. For team leaders and experienced staff to do this effectively requires an appropriate balance of coaching and skills transfer techniques.  Most technical professionals have received  significant development in their own technical discipline, but few have been trained in how to rapidly develop skills in less experienced staff.  Sustain Change has worked with Delta Partnership to design and run a number of programmes in Technical Coaching.  This utilises a powerful blend of workshops, one-to-one observation, coaching and action learning, which introduce senior technical professionals and leaders to proven techniques for effective knowledge and skills development.
